Mission We Seek to promote through the medium of portraits, the appreciation and understanding of the men and women who have made and are making African history and culture, and to promote the appreciation and understanding of portraiture in all media.

Overview Exists to promote Ghanaian art and protect rights of professional artists. The Association provides an important platform of communication for its members. The organization offers a wealth of services including information services, educational programs, exhibitions and publications to support artist in their professional development.

OUR SERVICES

Art Valuation & Appraisals

Our Art Evaluation involves comparing data from multiple sources such as galleries, museums, private and corporate collectors, curators, auction houses, specialized analysts to arrive at a value not only for investment and financial purposes but also for insurance and loan collateral purposes. Appraisal involves the process of evaluating the quality, condition, rarity, origin and source of a particular piece of art in order to establish its value.
Kwesi Pencil would provide an approximate value based on a series of photographs but we prefer to appraise an item first hand in order to better judge the item’s condition and peculiarities.

Art Selection

Kwesi Pencil has a database of artworks from top and upcoming artists that is constantly updated and is readily available for clients to choose from.

Commissions

Bespoke art can be commissioned at the request of clients.

Procurement

We have a well-proven process for purchasing artworks directly from artists and other sources owing to the good relationship we have established with artists. Our regular purchases enable us to acquire works at discounted prices for our clients.

Framing

We assist in the selection of the appropriate style and materials according to the requirements of the project. This is done in consultation with local framing companies.

CSR

We believe in promoting culture through education by liaising with schools, art organizations and diverse communities.

Installation

We provide a total installation service, offering advice on placement and presentation.

Art Rental

Finally, we assist in transforming your wall space by offering convenient and extremely cost effective way through our Art Rental Services. We offer a stunning portfolio of artworks for rental in the corporate and private environment. We provide access to an extensive art collection to companies with no capital outlay; no maintenance requirements and one can acquire new collections each year.

Alexander Nana Kwesi Hanson - Kwesi Pencil

A natural ability and strong desire to draw surfaced early in Kwesi’s life. While growing up in Ghana, he began developing his own techniques of blending charcoal and graphite to give a photo realistic look to his drawings. Kwesi uses this monochromatic medium to focus the viewer's attention to the drama of light, shadow, and texture without the added influence of color. Throughout his career, He has tried to push the limits of realistic expression with drawing. Working out of his studio in Ghana, Kwesi continues to expand the public perception of drawing and more.

"I aim to embrace your splendour and sincerity portraying likeness and personality traits into a unique, personalized, lasting art portrait whose visual magic enlightens your mind, heart and soul". I specialize in creating Fine Art Portraits by commission in a classic old masters tradition, according to your wishes. To create your uniquely personalized portrait gift, Kwesi needs only a couple photographs of good quality, close-up with a clear colour of the eyes and a few words describing the subjects personality. When creating portraits strictly from photos: for busy clients, children and pets that cannot stand still for a period of time, posthumous portraits and those commissioned as a surprise gift, Kwesi applies his experience of creating portraits from life and his in-depth academic training. His portraits are finely drawn and detailed with his own mark of distinction. He is proficient at creating and pastel portraits, as well as charcoal portraits, pen & ink portraits and Pencil drawn portraits. Portrait commissions are now accepted internationally. Your pictures could be sent by e-mail and finished personalized portraits will be properly packaged and sent to your address by a carrier of your choice.
